Who'd work in an office like this?
Flavorwire published a cool article today about fantastic office design from around the world. Who wouldn't want to get out of bed on a weekday morning if this was where you were headed?

Love Letters
Quite frankly I haven't had enough of these in my lifetime, but if I had a huge stack like these lucky people, this article on Apartment Therapy has some cute ideas about how to display them.

Murakami in Versailles
Quel horreur! This jolly well would come to Paris a month after I leave, wouldn't it....
I love the contrast of Murakami's over optimistic, cutsie Pop Art in contrast with the staid, conservative opulence of the chateau.
Just when you think Paris is stuffy they always throw a juxtaposing artistic spanner in the works and I love it!
Hanging Out
Spotted on Apartment Therapy today whilst looking for inspiration for a very big and plain staircase with only Magnolia (ugh) paint to decorate it so far. I especially love the one above, courtesy of Pink Pianos.
However, the one by Coco Male, below, really puts an irreverant spin on frumpy Victorian dado rails from days of yore, which my Grandmother lectured me about when I was around age six. God only knows what she was trying to achieve... maybe a grandaughter with a design blog?

Autumn Tea Party
Look at these darling lamps from Laura Ashley. I don't know whether it's the Johnny Depp/ Alice in Wonderland influence, or just coincidence that these have also come out in 2010, but I am totally smitten.
Now all I need is to bake some little cup cakes, don a blue dress, stick a playing card in my top hat and invite the Cheshire Cat around for a cuppa.

Architecture on Oxford Street
Just where you least expect something like this, so Fifth Element. I guess something positive did come out of The Blitz after all...

Dwelling on the macabre
Wandering down Tottenham Court Road today some sparkle caught my eye. Now there is nothing this little Magpie likes more than the slightly sinister fused with glitz. This black diamante skull had me pressing my nose and slightly grubby mitts against the glass.
I also spotted this dangerously glam silver scorpion. He's enough to take the girlie edge of any bachelorette pad whilst contrasting nicely with the Cath Kidston.

Lego block storage
So there seems to be a theme in this blog. Perhaps I just don't want to grow up, but it seems that interiors inspired by kids really catch my eye. Strange how it takes writing it all down in one place to realise a link...
Anyhow, I spotted these giant Lego-shaped storage boxes. They fit together just like in the olden days, but on a mammoth scale. So they can be used to store toys, clothes etc and be hidden under the bed, or can be used to make a towering feature in the kids room... or yours.
